Quick Overview
Precured dry intumescent one-component fire-rated pad for use in electrical boxes to maintain the integrity of fire-rated wall assemblies. Metacaulk Box Guard expands when exposed to heat, forming a refractory char that tightly seals to prevent the spread of flames, smoke, and toxic fumes. It is easy to install by hand and adheres to the back of the electrical box. This product is economical and labor-saving compared to putty pads, making it ideal for retrofit jobs. Additionally, Metacaulk Box Guard helps reduce sound transmission.
